Hydrofarm® Compact Fluorescent Grow Light Systems have proven themselves as effective, low cost indoor plant growth enhancers. Compact fluorescent lamps (CFLs) were first introduced around 1980 as an energy efficient alternative to conventional incandescent light bulbs.
CFL's provide more concentrated light than linear fluorescent tubes and are about one-quarter the size of conventional fluorescents.

| A Full Spectrum Daylight version produces a very natural appearing light at 6400 degree Kelvin temperature while the Full Spectrum Warm emits a warmer (increased orange and red) colored light measuring 2700 degrees Kelvin, a spectrum that enhances the fruiting and flowering of plants. |

|
Simple to use, compact fluorescents have the ballast built into the base of the bulb, so there is no need for an unsightly external ballast. An eight foot power cord plugs into any standard 120V household outlet and the fixture incorporates a convenient on/off switch at the back of the reflector.
Since CFL's utilize fluorescent technology, they burn relatively cool compared to an HID or incandescent lamp, enabling much closer lamp to plant tolerance for increased light levels. |

At 125 watts, the electricity needed for a Hydrofarm Compact Fluorescent Plant Grow Light system is roughly the same as a standard incandescent reading lamp, which would produce approximately 2,000 lumens of light. Each included Hydrofarm® Compact Fluorescent Bulb has a generous 10,000 hour rated lifespan, an approximate lumen output of 8,500, and a six-month replacement warranty.
The precision Hydrofarm® Compact Fluorescent reflector is built to the same exacting standards as Hydrofarm's larger HID lamp reflectors and includes a pebbled finish aluminum wing insert to distribute light evenly to the plant canopy. New integrated bulb support keeps bulb from sagging in fixture. Tempered lens included with all systems helps protect bulb from dust and water.
Extemely lightweight, the entire unit weighs less than 10 pounds and includes convenient hangers for mounting. The Hydrofarm® Compact Fluorescent Reflector measures 19.4 inches long by 12.2 inches wide by 6.8 inches deep with hangers. Eight-foot long grounded power cord. CSA listed. One year manufacturer's warranty against defects.
These lamps are ideal for starting seeds, propagation, houseplants, african violets, cactus and other smaller planting situations and are bright enough to actually grow compact fruiting and flowering plants. |
