Each Powerhouse Convertible system comes with the completely redesigned premium quality, multi-volt capable, Powerhouse Remote Convertible Ballast, capable of burning either a metal halide bulb or a high pressure sodium bulb simply by switching the easy to access toggle switch and inserting the appropriate bulb.
Featuring engineered transformers made to exacting American National Standards Institute Specifications, they are designed to drive either halide or sodium bulbs safely with separate wire leads. They are listed according to UL standards for use with either bulb. To use the Powerhouse Daystar AC Convertible MH/HPS lamp system as a metal halide, simply set the toggle switch to Metal Halide (MH) and insert the included AgroSun Gold metal halide bulb. Switching to the red spectrum of HP Sodium is as simple as changing the bulb to the included Hortilux HP Sodium bulb and changing the toggle switch to HP Sodium (HPS).
All systems include the DayStar Air Cool lightweight horizontal reflector with full specular aluminum reflector interior (12.5 inches wide by 22.5 inches long by 7.5 inches tall), 15 foot lamp cable and integrated socket assembly; AgroSun Gold Halide bulb; EYE Hortilux Sodium bulb; Powerhouse Convertible Remote Ballast enclosure (7.5 inches by 8.5 inches wide by 11.5 inches tall, 13.5 inches tall including handle) with 8 foot grounded power cord; hanging hardware; full instructions and lighting recommendations; full 8-year extended warranty (bulbs carry a one-year manufacturers warranty). All systems are fully UL and CSA listed for use in damp locations and include tempered lens for bulb protection.
Available in 400 and 1000 watt sizes. 400 watt systems will cover between 25 and 64 square feet, depending on mounting height, while 1000 watt systems will cover between 64 and 144 square feet. 400 watt reflectors should be hung between 2 and 4 feet above the plant canopy while 1000 watt models should be between 4 and 6 feet above the plants.

Reflector Hanging System
This hot new hanging system makes adjusting the height of your lamp reflector a snap! Provides easy vertical control of reflector position to maximize growth with proper light distance. Smooth up and down motion with very little effort required, yet your reflector will stay precisely at the height you determine.
Each reflector hanger will hold a maximum weight of 11 pounds. Two hangers are required for each reflector, with a maximum reflector weight of 22 pounds. Each kit includes 2 SunRise Hangers and stud hooks.
