WHAT IS EBB AND FLOW?
Plants cultivated in a growing tray are watered and fed automatically with a simple flood and drain watering method using a small submersible pump. Every time the water and nutrients flood (flow) the growing tray, stale air is pushed out of the growing medium and all the plant roots are equally fed and watered. As the mixture drains (ebb) back into the reservoir, fresh air is pulled into the root area. Plants love this because it delivers fresh water, nutrients and oxygen on a continual basis, resulting in a high rate of growth. The ebb and flow cycle repeats between four and eight times per day, depending on the size of the plants and the environment they are growing in.

The American Hydroponics Fill/Drain Fitting is constructed of strong injection-molded ABS plastic and accepts 1/2 inch diameter vinyl tubing from the pump.
The Overflow Fitting is constructed of strong PVC plastic. O-ring seal is constructed of specially selected synthetic materials that resist acids and cracking. The Overflow Fitting is reversible, allowing for a shallow 1 1/2 inch flood or a deeper 3 inch flood for larger pots.

The Net Well holds twenty-four (24) 5.5 inch Heavy Duty Net Pots, lifting them off the bottom of the growing tray for the ultimate in root aeration. Pots fit snugly in the "wells" which reduces the need for trellising.
The Net Well also creates a cover for the roots of your plants, which prevents any light from penetrating the roots, and keeps algae growth to an absolute minimum. Achieving the healthiest root zone possible is the key to large, lush plants! |
