The Bluelab Truncheon is 100% waterproof, reads in EC, CF and PPM, is fully temperature compensated, automatically turns on and off when placed in or removed from the test solution, has a newly redesigned, easy to read, blue flashing analog LED display.
Powered by three alkaline AA batteries, The Truncheon has no external switches or adjustment knobs. Measuring 16.5 inches long, The Bluelab Truncheon has an attached lanyard for secure readings and portability. Since it's completely waterproof, it doubles as a nutrient stir stick!
PPM range is 140 through 2520; EC range 0.2 - 3.6 (CF 2 - 36) with an accuracy rate +/-4% of the full scale.

Portable Meter
The Bluelab Nutrient Meter is used to measure the conductivity of hydroponic nutrient solutions. Simply place the probe into the solution and the reading will be displayed on the screen. To get a temperature reading, just push the 'temp' button.
As the meter is portable and does not require an outside power supply to operate, it can be used anytime and anywhere to help you manage your crops nutrient and temperature requirements.
The Bluelab Nutrient Meter gives you the added benefit of being able to select the display option for °C or °F and EC, CF or PPM. The Nutrient Meter never needs calibrating. This is locked in during manufacture which gives you peace of mind that it will remain accurate at all times.

Probe cleaning is one of the most important parts of owning and operating any Bluelab meter, monitor or controller. If the probe is contaminated or dirty, it affects the accuracy of the reading displayed.
The instrument is only as accurate as the probe is clean! |

The probe surface is where the instrument takes the reading of the solution. The information is sent back from the probe to the micro computer, or "brain", of the instrument. A calculation is then done by the micro computer and a reading is then displayed. If the information sent back from the probe is inaccurate due to probe surface contamination, then the reading will be inaccurate as well.
Cleaning the probes is a very easy task and prolongs the life of the probes.
