Bluelab® Truncheon
CF/EC/PPM Meter
The Bluelab® Truncheon is the best selling portable hydroponic nutrient meter in the world. Why do professional and hobby plant and greenhouse growers worldwide prefer The Bluelab® Truncheon?
It is the absolute easiest meter to use, easiest meter to read, easiest meter to maintain, and extremely accurate.
Best of all though, the Truncheon is extremely reliable; a Bluelab® Truncheon will last for years - ask anyone who owns one. Truncheon is so tough, in fact, Bluelab® warranties the Truncheon for an unmatched 5 full years!
The Bluelab® Truncheon is 100% waterproof, provides measurement readings in EC, CF, and TDS measured in PPM, is fully temperature compensated, automatically turns on and off when placed in or removed from the test solution, as well as having a newly redesigned, easy to read, blue flashing analog LED display.
Conductivity is the total soluble salts contained within a liquid solution. Because pure water does not conduct electricity it has a conductivity measurement of zero. By adding soluble elements to the water, electricity is able to move through the solution giving it a conductivity rating.
Conductivity is measured using various scales. The Bluelab® Truncheon with easy-to-read scales for Electrical Conductivity (EC), Conductivity Factor (CF), and Total Dissolved Solids (TDS), measured both at ppm 500 (parts per million) and ppm 700 scales.
EC and CF are the only two absolute scales of conductivity, however, many in the US measure TDS using a ppm 500 scale, while in the UK, the ppm 700 scale is primarily used.
Powered by three alkaline AA batteries (included), the Bluelab® Truncheon has no external switches or adjustment knobs. Measuring 16.5 inches long, the Bluelab® Truncheon has an attached lanyard for secure readings and portability.
Since it's completely waterproof, the Bluelab Truncheon doubles as the perfect reservoir nutrient stir stick!
The Bluelab Truncheon measures a ppm 500 range of 100 through 1800 ppm; a ppm 700 range of 140 to 2520 ppm; an EC measurement range of 0.2 - 3.6 (CF 2 - 36), a resolution of 0.1 EC (1CF), and an accuracy rate of +/-4% over the full scale.
