Organic
Hydroponic Growing Media

Crop CirclesTM
Premium Quality
Expanding Coir Fiber
Coco Peat Substrate
An organic potting medium made from natural coconut fibers, this medium is ideal for hydroponic and mixed media cultivation. Each Crop CirclesTM Premium Quality Coir Fiber Coco Peat disk expands to about five times its compressed size, from approximately 47.5 cubic inches dry, to approximately 237.5 cubic inches properly expanded, enough to fill four (4) six-inch pots.

Crop Circles
TM Coco loosens clay soils and is highly porous to aid in strong root development. It has a soft fibrous texture that does not crust when dry. pH ranges between 5.0 and 6.5, making it ideal as a soil amendment. Crop CirclesTM are free from weed seeds or diseases, and can be used as a peat moss replacement in potting mixes or alone as a potting medium.

Crop Circles
TM Coir Fiber Coco Peat disks are a shredded form of coco, as opposed to the coffee ground consistancy of competitive products, which results in a much higher air to water ratio, extremely important for healthy root development. As a result, Crop CirclesTM promote stronger root systems with better nutrient absorption resulting in excellent growth and plant formation.

Crop Circles
TM are entirely organic and manufactured from renewable resources. Washed of unwanted salts and pH balanced so you can begin fertilization immediately. The fibrous material settles faster after planting, absorbs water easily at all times and has optimal drainage characteristics so the medium always stays extremely airy. It's structure holds up throughout cultivation, with minimal settling.

To use, simply fill a bucket with 1/2 gallon of water, and place one disk in the bucket for 1 hour. The Crop CircleTM will slowly dissolve and the premium quality coconut fiber will be ready to use. Crop CirclesTM can also be mixed with any other growing media such as perlite, grow rocks or potting soil to make the final growing mix.

Crop Circles
TM are available by the individual Crop CircleTM, which expand to approximately 237.5 cubic inches, or .88 of a Dry U.S. Gallon; by a pack of 5 Crop CirclesTM, which expand to approximately 1187.5 cubic inches, or 4.42 Dry U.S. Gallons; and a pack of 20 Crop CirclesTM, which expand to approximately 4,750 cubic inches, or 17.67 Dry U.S. Gallons. Just place the disk in your container, water using your standard fertilizer regiment, and start cultivating!

Horticultural Perlite
Perlite is a unique volcanic mineral which expands from four to twenty times its original volume when it is quickly heated to a temperature of approximately 1600-1700 degrees F. This expansion is due to the presence of two to six percent combined water in the crude perlite rock which causes the perlite to pop in a manner similar to that of popcorn.

When expanded, each granular, snow-white particle of perlite is sterile with a neutral pH and contains many tiny, closed cells or bubbles. The surface of each particle is covered with tiny cavities which provide an extremely large surface area. These surfaces hold moisture and nutrients and make them available to plant roots.
Hoffman Horticultural Perlite
In addition, because of the physical shape of each particle, air passages are formed which provide optimum aeration and drainage. Because perlite is sterile, it is free of disease, seeds, and insects.

Perlite has been used for many years throughout the world for soil conditioning and as a component of growing mixes with materials such as peat moss or bark. Extensive studies have shown that the unique capillary action of perlite makes it a superior growing media for hydroponic cultures.

Among the many uses of perlite today are propagation and seed cultivation, plug production and transplants, interiorscape and planter growing, composting, hydroponic cultures, turf and lawns, and around shrubs, trees, and landscaping.

Hoffman Horticultural Perlite is available in 18 Dry Quart (19.82 liters, 4.5 Dry Gallons) and 2 cubic foot (56 liters, 12.713 Dry Gallons) bags. For more information about the origins of perlite and its current uses, please visit The Perlite Institute at

Mother Earth
Large & Coarse #4
Horticultural Perlite
Mother Earth Perlite begins as naturally occurring siliceous rock. After it is heated to 1,600 degrees Fahrenheit, the rock expands up to 20 times its original volume. This kilning process is similar to popping popcorn and produces a growing medium that is sterile and has a neutral pH of 7.0.

The exceptional physical properties of this giant perlite make it tops in the perlite world for adding porosity to soil, soilless mixes, as well as hydroponic applications.
Mother Earth Large & Coarse #4 Horticultural Perlite
Garden Tip: In containers, spread Mother Earth Large & Coarse Perlite in a one-inch layer along the bottom of the pot, then mix one part Mother Earth Large & Coarse with four parts potting soil. Water thoroughly and allow soil mixture to settle before planting.

In hydroponic systems, fill pot with Mother Earth Large & Coarse Perlite, and position plant properly so its root system is supported in the medium.

Mother Earth Large & Coarse Perlite #4 measures between 1/2 and 1 inch in diameter and is available in a 4 cubic foot bag.

PVP Perl-Lome
Horticultural Perlite
Perl-Lome Horticultural Perlite is a semi-coarse soil additive that improves soil structure, eliminates soil crusting and compaction and improves drainage and aeration. Among the unique properties of Horticultural Perlite is its ability to work for many years in the soil. It does this because it is inorganic and does not deteriorate. In addition, perlite is chemically inert and has an essentially neutral pH.

Because it is sterile, perlite is free of disease, weed seeds and insects. Its light weight makes perlite easy to handle and is clean and odorless too.
Perl-Lome Horticultural Perlite
As a soil additive mix equal parts perlite and soil. Moisten and mix thoroughly. Firm the mix well around the roots but do not pack too tightly. Water thoroughly.

For starting seeds or cuttings, mix equal parts of perlite and soil. Moisten thoroughly and add your seeds or cuttings. Pack gently. Approximately four weeks later transplant to growing container. Eight (8) dry quart (8.8L) bag.

Vermiculite
Horticultural Vermiculite has the excellent property of improving soil aeration while retaining the moisture and nutrients necessary to feed roots, cuttings, and seeds for faster growth. Vermiculite is permanent, clean, odorless, nontoxic and sterile. It will not deteriorate, turn moldy or rot.

The pH of vermiculite is essentially neutral (7.0-9.5) but owing to the presence of associated carbonate compounds, reactions are normally in the alkaline direction.
Hoffman Horticultural Vermiculite
Vermiculite possesses cation exchange properties, thus it can hold and make available to the growing plant ammonium, potassium, calcium and magnesium.

When mixed with peat, composted bark, organic compost, or natural soils, vermiculite like perlite helps promote faster root growth, and gives quick anchorage to young roots. These mixes help retain air, plant food, and moisture, and releases them as needed by the plant. Because vermiculite is very light and easy to handle, it easily mixes with soil, peat, composted pine bark and other composted organic materials and fertilizers.

Hoffman Horticultural Vermiculite is a medium grade vermiculite with a varying average diameter of 1/8 to 3/16 inch. Available in 18 Dry Quart (19.82 liters, 4.5 Dry Gallons) and 2 cubic foot (56 liters, 12.713 Dry Gallons) bags.
