pH Test & Control Kit
pH control is important to stimulate vigorous plant growth. Nutrient solution pH that is too high (basic), or too low (acidic), cannot be properly absorbed by plants. Incorrect nutrient solution pH can cause slow growth, sickly plants and low yields.
Skilled growers will test and adjust nutrient pH after mixing fresh nutrient solution, and will test and adjust nutrient pH periodically in between nutrient tank changes.

By maintaining nutrient pH within the range of 5.6 to 6.5 (for most plants), you can assure your crop maximum availability of all nutrient minerals. This will stimulate faster growth rates, larger yields, and healthier plants that are more resistant to insect infestation and disease.

The Octet Comparator contains eight permanent color standards for pH values of 4.8, 5.2, 5.6, 6.0, 6.4, 6.8, 7.2, and 7.6. A test sample is inserted into the openings in the top of the comparator. The sample can then be compared to four color standards at once, and the value read off the comparator. For optimum color comparison, the comparator should be positioned between the operator and a light source, so the light enters through the special light-diffusing screen in the back of the comparator. Avoid viewing the comparator against direct sunlight or an irregularly lighted background.
Kit includes Octet Comparator, two test tubes with caps, 30ml indicator solution (enough for approximately 50 tests), sturdy plastic carry case with foam insert for test tube protection. Order replacement indicator solution below.
