The optional two-piece covers help to keep out light, reduce algae and debris build-up, and keep evaporation to a minimum. The covers have a convenient slot built into them that allows the system plumbing to pass through with minimal light seepage.
American Hydroponic reservoirs were designed to comfortably fit underneath almost any hydroponic system. When used with the American Hydroponics Fill/Drain Fitting, they are super easy to drain by simply attaching a 1/2 inch ID tube to the inner coupling of the fitting and turning on the pump.

The optional reservoir lid allows the gardener easy access to the reservoir without taking the entire cover off, ensuring a more functional routine of adding solutions, nutrients and water to your reservoir.
Botanicare Reservoirs also come equipped with built-in bulkhead ports in front and on each side, enabling the grower to add a centrifugal pump outside the reservoir. This feature also gives the gardener the ability to join reservoirs together in-line or side by side to achieve increased water volumes, and thus, decreased maintenance needs.
Botanicare Reservoirs in a wide variety of sizes to fit almost any need. 20 gallon reservoir measures 20 inches wide by 26 inches long by 12 inches tall. 40 gallon reservoir measures 29.25 inches wide by 27 inches long by 12 inches tall. 70 gallon reservoir measures 30.25 inches wide by 53.25 inches long by 12 inches tall. Ultimately they came to the conclusion that if they wanted the perfect reservoir for their hydroponic systems, they would have to build it themselves.
The result is the new General Hydroponics Panda® Reservoir. The decision to name this new 40-gallon reservoir the Panda® was based on its white exterior (which reflects heat), and its black interior (which discourages algae growth), the colors of the famous Panda bear. In addition, the material with which General Hydroponics built the Panda® - extra strong, high quality, co-extruded plastic - reflects their environmental concerns.
The Panda's small footprint enables it to fit through a standard doorway while standing upright, and the optional lid's convenient access hatch makes nutrient changes a breeze.
