By placing the heat-producing transformer above critical operational components such as the capacitor and ignitor, the life of these parts are greatly extended, providing you with years of trouble-free operation. ISO-mount with silencer technology assures noise and vibration free performance while the new dual voltage feature allows you to operate this unit on either 110V or 220V circuits for maximum flexibility (220/240 power cord available separately). Patented Lock and Seal 15 foot in-line detachable lamp plug system for easy mobility, heavy duty 3-prong grounded power cord, sturdy rubber feet and a convenient carrying handle with keyhole cutouts for easy ceiling or wall mounting.

Each All System Cord Set features a 6KV pulse rated, position-oriented mogul socket, the highest rating of any socket on the market. The socket is mounted to the All System Cylinder & Mounting Disc which is easily adjustable to position the bulb correctly in the reflector depending on the bulbs size for perfectly symmetrical lamp positioning and optimum output.
A custom molded right angle strain relief is connnected to 15 feet of heavy duty 600 volt rated cable and Hydrofarm's patented Lock & Seal plug system which safely connects the bulb to the remote ballast and allows for maximum flexibility in ballast placement.

Powerhouse Remote Ballasts come ready to use in either metal halide, sodium or convertible (switchable between metal halide and sodium) configurations. Metal Halide and Convertible remote ballasts are available in 400 and 1000 watt versions, while HP Sodium versions are available in 400, 600 and 1000 watt versions.

The Lumatek ballast is completely silent (no more buzzing) and produces less heat than a standard ballast. Because of Lumatek's soft start technology the lamps last up to three times as long. Test data has shown that a Lumatek 600 watt ballast produces within 5% of the usable light of a 1000 watt core and coil ballast! Digital ballasts also do not degrade like standard ballasts do. Over time magnetic ballasts become louder, produce less light, emit more heat and use more electricity. Electronic ballasts maintain their efficiency throughout their life span.
Lumatek Electronic Remote Ballasts enable HID bulbs to produce 20 to 30% more lumens and can power either metal halide or high pressure sodium bulbs of the rated wattage.
Lumatek Electronic Remote Ballasts offer extremely fast start-up times, reaching full brightness in under one minute; magnetic ballasts typically take about twenty minutes.
