Smart Pot
Aeration Container
Better than plastic containers, better than raised beds, the Smart Pot is a truly innovative, inexpensive and practically foolproof way to grow potted (containerized) plants.
The Smart Pot is an aeration container, an improvement in container technology that allows you to grow plants in a more favorable environment than in a similar sized standard pot. Uniquely constructed with a super strong black fabric material, Smart Pots won't crack from temperature extremes or break when dropped.
The Smart Pot's black fabric construction quickly warms up during the early season soil which enables plants to get off to a quicker start. Yet the same fabric, due to its porous nature, allows heat to escape from the container through evaporative cooling during the summer's hottest days.
Because of the Smart Pot's unique breathability and excellent drainage characteristics, they are more forgiving than hard sided containers and a wide range of potting mixes can be used.
When used on bare ground, the Smart Pot's porous fabric base contours to the undulations of the ground and will establish capillary contact with the ground. When you move your Smart Pot, water it back in to reestablish capillary contact.
Unlike hard plastic containers, by cutting planting sites into the sides of Smart Pots, a full container effect can be achieved that completely hides the container.
Smart Pots work with all kinds of plants including annuals, perennials, fruits, vegetables and herbs. Smart Pots are compatible with all fertilization programs.
Smart Pots work great in ebb and flood (subirrigation) systems and are ideal for aquatic plants as well.
Smart Pot's are available in a multitude of sizes to fit virtually every application from propagation to tree farming. |

Pot Holes
Drainage Discs
Here's an idea that's long overdue... a clean, simple method of plugging the drainage hole in the bottom of your clay and ceramic pots, or any pot which has drainage holes in the bottom.
Pot Holes eliminate soil messes by covering drain holes. No more searching for the proper sized stones or making a mess by breaking pots for clay shards
Pot Holes Drainage Discs provide your potted plants with perfect drainage. Simply drop one Pot Hole in the bottom of an appropriate sized pot, add potting soil or soilless mix, and plant. It's as simple as that.
Specially formulated lightweight hydroponic filler holds moisture for plants while greatly improving oxygen to the plant roots, resulting in healthier root systems and plants, and in many cases, fewer waterings.
Best of all, Pot Holes are completely reusable. When repotting, simply rinse off your used Pot Hole with clean water and throw it back in a new pot.
PotHoles are available in 4 different sizes for pots small to large.
The 5-inch diameter size is best for use in 6- to 10-inch diameter pots. This size is sold in a 2-pack.
The 6.5-inch diameter is best for use in 10- to 14-inch diameter pots. This size is sold in a 2-pack. |
|
|
|
|
|
|
The 8.5-inch diameter Pot Holes are best used in 12-inch to 18-inch diameter pots. This size is sold individually.
The 11.5-inch diameter PotHoles are best used in 15-inch to 20-inch diameter pots. This size is sold individually.
We hope it's obvious, but for the sake of clarity, the pots pictured are not included.
Through your purchase of PotHoles you will be benefiting lung cancer research as 5% of all PotHoles profits go to the Christine J. Burge Endowment for Lung Cancer Research at the University of Colorado Cancer Center. Christine is the inventor of Pot Holes, and was diagnosed with lung cancer early in her work on this wonderful product. Sadly, Christine passed away in January of 2007, but her spirit, inventiveness, and search for a cure live on with her useful and unique product, PotHoles Drainage Discs. |

Genesis Compound
Premium Biodynamic
Compost Tea
Inoculant
Genesis Compound is born on a certified organic farm in Water Mill, NY using only the finest ingedients and is a representation of true biodynamic compost. Developed by Rudolph Steiner in the 1920's as the first reaction to artificial farming, biodynamics is rooted in the use of subtle forces found in specific plants and herbs (called biodynamic preparations, or "preps" numbered BD500-508) to increase the life force of compost or growing situations. |
|
|
|
|
|
|
The preparations help regulate the processes and life in soil, in composts, and in the interrelationship of plant life to its near and distant environment.
Acting as stimulants, the BD preps are used in small quantities positively affecting the relationship between plants, micro- and macrobiology and nutrient elements, and especially, the quality of vegetable produce.
When utilizing Genesis Compound as a compost tea inoculant, use with any compost tea brewer on the market. For compost tea, use 1 tablespoon per 10 gallons of water; for larger systems use 1 cup per 100 gallons of water.
As a soil conditioner, use at least 1 cup per 2 cubic feet of soil or growing media as a pre-mix. For containers using soil or soilless mixes, use at least 1 cup for every 5 gallons of water, stir solution clockwise, then counterclockwise for up to 20 minutes and apply as a soil or media drench.
For fields and gardens, use 1/3 cup in 3 to 5 gallons of water in a proper bucket, find a comfortable stick and stirring from the periphery create a vortex first clockwise and then counter-clockwise. Repeat this for 20 minutes. This mixture will be energetically sufficient for up to an entire acre of land.
Genesis Compound Premium Biodynamic Compost Tea Inoculant is available in a 1 cup resealable bag. 1 cup equals .24 liters. |

Natural Science Organics Premium Biodynamic Compost is born on a certified organic farm in Water Mill, NY using only the finest ingredients and is a representation of true biodynamic compost. herbs (called biodynamic 'preps' numbered BD500-508) to increase the life force of compost or any growing situation.
The preparations help regulate the processes and life in soil, in composts, and in the interrelationship of plant life to its near and distant environment. Acting as stimulants the BD preps are used in small quantities positively affecting the relationship between plants, micro- and macrobiology and nutrient elements, and especially, the quality of vegetable produce. This compost is a premium humus containing myriad beneficial microorganisms and dynamic minerals and micronutrients, just the food your soil or growing media needs to produce healthy roots, leaves, flowers, and fruit.
Premium Biodynamic Compost is derived from only the finest ingredients including local seaweeds, biodynamically made composts (leaf matter, cow manure, vegetable waste, fish remnants), trace minerals, fermentations of yarrow, chamomile, stinging nettles, oak bark, dandelion, and valerian are combined and aged to perfection for the highest quality humus available anywhere. Windrows are sprayed with various proprietary living solutions throughout the composting process in order to stimulate biology and ensure maximum potency. Premium Biodynamic Compost is not sterilized, meaning it comes from nature and can potentially contain seeds that germinate in the bag or after planting. This is no cause for alarm, it is the life force at work. Simply pluck or turn under into the living soil.
For potting and soilless mixes, use 5 to 20 percent by volume; for compost tea, use approximately a quart by volume in 30 to 50 gallons of water as a biological inoculant; as a compost inoculant, use one cup once per month in compost pile for higher quality compost; for transplanting, sprinkle compost over the entire surface of hole before transplanting; as a tree and shrub food, top dress, or punch holes in soil and fill with compost; for lawns, spread 5 gallons per 1000 square feet; as a pond treatment, use 1 gallon for every 1000 square feet of surface area.
Sold in 1 dry U.S. gallon bags, equals 4.4 liters, equals 18.6 cups, equals 0.16 cubic feet. Rodale Organic Gardening Certified. |

Thirsty Light
Digital Moisture Monitor
Improper watering kills or injures houseplants more often than any other cause. Overwatering is just as harmful as under-watering. The Thirsty Light is designed to help you monitor your plant's moisture level so that you know when it's time to water.
The Thirsty Light can be used in two ways. First, the Thirsty Light can be left right in the pot for continuous moisture monitoring. Alternatively, you can use the Thirsty Light as a portable moisutre measuring device by moving the probe from one plant to the next. The digital sensor tests conditions once every second, so each pot's soil moisture can be assessed quickly and accurately. |
 |
|
|
|
|
|
To use the Thirsty Light, simply place the probe into the soil so that approximately one inch of the probe is above the soil line, then turn the power switch to the "On" position. The LED Alert will blink to tell you how moist or how dry the soil is.
The Thirsty Light uses Drypoint technology and has 5 levels of sensitivity that makes the LED blink faster as the soil gets drier.
When the Thirsty Light doesn't blink, the soil is moist. A regular blinking pattern indicates the soil is drying and needs to be watered. A double blink followed by a long pause indicates that the soil is completely dry and needs to be watered thoroughly.
The Thirsty Light is powered by two |
