Bluelab®
Professional
Soil pH Meter
If you need to accurately measure the pH level of soil, media or other substrates, then the Bluelab® Soil pH Meter is just what you need! The Bluelab® Soil pH Meter is easy and accurate enough to be used by everybody from the home enthusiast through to more robust commercial applications.
Bluelab Professional Soil pH Meter
In soils or growing media, pH strongly influences the availability of nutrients and the presence of micro-organisms and plants in the soil. Certain plants require a particular pH range to enable the required nutrients to be consistently available to the plant. If the solution is too acidic or too alkaline it can cause "lock up" - a situation which restricts certain elements essential for growth from being absorbed by the root structure. Bluelab Soil pH Meter includes a FREE lockable metal storage case.
This in turn reduces plant heath and performance. Deficiencies in the required elements become apparent in plant growth and can lead to crop failure.

Having to make up a slurry and use test strips is time consuming, cumbersome and generally lacking in reliability. The Bluelab
® Soil pH Meter enables you to take the measurement directly into the soil with an accurate result in minutes, not hours!

The Bluelab
® Soil pH Meter was initially tested by a professional grower that takes an average of 50 direct soil tests per day.

Lightweight and portable, the Bluelab
® Soil pH Meter can be used anywhere, at anytime. The Bluelab® Soil pH Meter features a full 5-year warranty on the meter and a 6-month warranty on the replaceable soil pH probe.

The Bluelab
® Soil pH Meter includes a premium quality soil pH probe; a FREE lockable metal case; single-use 20ml calibration solutions included; simple push button calibration; auto turn off function; large easy to read LCD display; low battery indicator; two (2) alkaline AAA batteries; and complete instructions.

This non-refillable soil pH probe is used to measure the pH levels of soil or media of cropping, pasture, containerized plants, home gardens, propagation culture...anywhere that the soils pH requires testing.
Bluelab Professional Soil pH Probe
This probe can be used for direct pH measurements in soils. The soil probe is supplied with a 'Dibber' - the green spear pictured above. The 'dibber' is inserted into the media/soil prior to inserting the pH probe to ensure no damage occurs to the probe tip from coarse soil particles, stones etc.

Soil pH can also be measured by taking soil solution samples. The instruction sheet supplied will provide guidance for taking both methods of soil pH measurements.

The Bluelab
® Soil pH Probe Replacement is fully waterproof; features a quality BNC connection with a tough polypropylene barrel; heavy duty thick wall glass stem; and a non-refillable gel junction. Includes dibber / auger. Total probe length is 2 meters.

HydroRX
Soil & Water Analysis Kit
The Hydro RX Soil & Water Analysis Kit conveniently allows you to professionally test your soil / soilless mix, hydroponic nutrient solution, or source water to help you maximize growth in your garden.

Simply prepare your sample with one of the included sample containers and mailing envelope and mail to the Hydrofarm test lab (postage not included). Your personalized results will be mailed to you via USPS, faxed, or can be accessed online within a few short days at
http://www.hydrofarmlab.com.
Hydro RX Soil & Water Analysis Kit
Soil Analysis
When you grow in soil, the pH and available nutrients at the plant roots can mean the difference between a successful crop and a failed one. At Hydrofarm's professional lab, high-tech testing equipment is utilized to accurately measure the pH and available nutrients in your soil, potting mix, or soilless mix.
Hydro RX Soil & Water Analysis Kit
Hydroponic Nutrient Solution Analysis
When you send a sample of your hydroponic nutrient solution to Hydrofarm Lab, Hydrofarm technicians analyze the solution using state of the art equipment. The end result is a comprehensive report detailing exactly the concentration of each major nutrient in your hydroponic solution. With this information, you can make adjustments to your solution to improve crop performance and yields. Read more about plant nutrition and the pathological triangle at http://www.hydrofarmlab.com.

Source Water Analysis
When growing plants, the quality of your water is as important as the nutrients you add to it. For example, "hard water" means you need to watch how much Calcium and Magnesium you add to your nutrient solution. An in-depth report of your source water will tell you its precise pH and which nutrients are already present in your water and at what levels.

The Hydro RX Test Kit is good for your choice of one of either the Soil Analysis, the Hydroponic Nutrient Analysis, or the Source Water Analysis. Additional kits must be purchased for multiple tests.

Bonide®
Iron Sulfate
Bonide's Iron Sulfate helps supply Iron in a readily available form. Bonide's Iron Sulfate works well as an aid to correct Iron deficient soils or when plant symptoms indicate a need for Iron. Use with Azaleas, Camellias, Citrus and Gardenias. Iron Sulfate can also be used to treat Iron deficiencies in turf.

Note that adding Iron Sulfate to calcareous soils (soils with high levels of limestone) with high pH may not be effective, as these soils may already contain fairly high levels of unavailable Iron which will remain unavailable unless pH is reduced.
Bonide Iron Sulphate
Apply Bonide's Iron Sulfate in spring or early summer. Repeat application in 6-8 weeks, as needed, to correct iron deficiency and promote dark green color. This product should be used to supplement a regular fertilization program.

For Flowers & Vegetables, apply at the rate of 4.5 ounces (2 Tbs.) per 100 square feet. Blend into the soil and water thoroughly. For Trees & Shrubs, dissolve 1/4 to 1/2 ounce (1/2-1 tsp.) in one gallon of water and apply to the soil along the drip line. Water thoroughly. For Lawns, dissolve 2 cups in three gallons of water per 1000 square feet of lawn. Water thoroughly.

Bonide's Iron Sulfate is not recommended for potted or container grown plants. This product could stain concrete surfaces such as driveways or sidewalks. Wash or sweep from concrete surfaces immediately after application.

Contains 15.00% Total Iron (Fe) Plant Nutrients Derived From Ferrous Sulfate.

Espoma®
Soil Acidifier
Espoma Soil Acidifier is the finest, most effective sulfur product available. It is an all natural, high purity mineral that can be used both as a plant food to provide the nutrient sulfur and as a soil amendment to correct the problem of alkaline soil.

Espoma Soil Acidifier turns hydrangeas from pink to blue, lowers pH of soil to its optimum range, promotes growth and dark greening of plants, won't burn your plants because of its low salt index and is safe to use around children and pets (not hazardous or toxic).

When used as part of a regular fertilizer program, it can provide a season-long source of sulfur.
Espoma Soil Acidifier (Garden Sulfur)
It is always recommended that you do a soil analysis to ensure the proper rate of application. Sprinkle 3 tbsp. Per 100 sq. ft. (1 tsp per plant) around the root zone. If possible, mix it in with your fertilizer and work it into the soil.

Soil Acidifier Recommendation
In the absence of a soil test, follow the rates below. Results can take up to several weeks depending on rate, soil temperature and timing of application. Reduce the rates by one-third for sandy soils and increase by one-half for clay soils. In general, the optimum range for blue hydrangeas is 5.5 - 6.0, and for blueberries it's 4.5 - 5.0.
