Blossom-End Rot Spray
Tomato blossom-end rot is a disorder caused by a calcium deficiency. The disorder can be aggravated by the application of too much nitrogen fertilizer to tomato plants. Blossom-end rot appears as a round, brown, sunken area on the end of the tomato fruit opposite the stem. As the fruit ripens, the area turns dry and leathery. The disorder often appears after a period of rapid growth followed by dry conditions, or in periods of heavy rain that causes calcium to leach from the soil. |

| Mix Bonide® Tomato Blossom-End Rot Spray Concentrate at the rate of 1 tablespoon (1/2 fluid ounce) per 1 quart of water. Apply as a thorough cover spray to the foliage and fruit during periods of rapid growth or following excessive rainfall. Apply in early morning or evening when temperatures are lower to avoid foliage burn. Make applications 5 to 7 days apart when conditions are favorable for appearance of the disorder. Regular spray programs are not recommended, as prolonged spraying and rates in excess of those specified can cause foliage burn. For soil and soilless potting mix applications, use 1 teaspoon per gallon (5ml per 4L) along with your starter or transplant nutrients during planting or transplanting and soak media well. Or use as a supplement to a complete nutrient program, at the rate of 1 to 3 drops per gallon. Or add 1 tablespoon per gallon (15ml per 4L) and apply as a media drench to correct deficiencies. Repeat as necessary.
For hydroponic applications, add 1 to 3 drops per gallon when topping off reservoir, or to the reservoir at every nutrient change along with a complete fertilizer program. To correct deficiencies in hydroponic systems, follow foliar application directions.
For foliar applications, use 1 teaspoon per gallon (5ml per 4L) and spray plant foliage every 1 to 2 weeks. Use 1 tablespoon per gallon (15ml per 4L) to correct visible deficiencies. Wait 3 days to visually assess if reapplication is necessary and repeat as needed.

For shrubs, including Azalea, Camellia, Cherry Laurel, Crepe Myrtle, Euonymous, Forsythia, Gardenia, Honeysuckle, Hydrangea, Ligustrum, Primrose, Pyracantha, Rhododendron, Rose, Spirea, and smaller shrubs and vines, use 5-6 ounces for small shrubs and 10-12 ounces for large shrubs. Apply directly underneath the shrub and water in well.
For trees including Catalpa, Chinese Arborvitae, Cypress, Dogwood, Elm, Ginko, Juniper, Magnolia, Maple, Mimosa, Pin Oak, Pine, Russian Olive, Spruce, Sycamore, Sweet Gum and other trees and very large woody shrubs, use approximately 1 pint per 1 inch of trunk diameter (at chest height). Apply directly to the soil within the drip line and water in well.
For turf, including Bahia, Bent, Bermuda, Centipede, Fescue, St. Augustine, and Zoysia grass, apply 2 to 4 ounces per 1,000 square feet with sufficient water for good coverage, three to four times per growing season.

Note that adding Iron Sulfate to calcareous soils (soils with high levels of limestone) with high pH may not be effective, as these soils may already contain fairly high levels of unavailable Iron which will remain unavailable unless pH is reduced.
Apply Bonide's Iron Sulfate in spring or early summer. Repeat application in 6-8 weeks, as needed, to correct iron deficiency and promote dark green color. This product should be used to supplement a regular fertilization program.
For Flowers & Vegetables, apply at the rate of 4.5 ounces (2 Tbs.) per 100 square feet. Blend into the soil and water thoroughly. For Trees & Shrubs, dissolve 1/4 to 1/2 ounce (1/2-1 tsp.) in one gallon of water and apply to the soil along the drip line. Water thoroughly. For Lawns, dissolve 2 cups in three gallons of water per 1000 square feet of lawn. Water thoroughly.
Bonide's Iron Sulfate is not recommended for potted or container grown plants. This product could stain concrete surfaces such as driveways or sidewalks. Wash or sweep from concrete surfaces immediately after application.
